RootWorks Partner, Kristy Short, Recognized on Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Accounting List

RootWorks, the accounting profession’s premier membership-only education organization, today announced that its own Kristy Short, Ed.D, partner and Chief Marketing Officer, has been named to CPA Practice Advisor’s "25 Most Powerful Women in Accounting" list (Read the article here). Over the past few years, Short has emerged as a leader and educator for the profession with several professional speaking engagements, webcasts, educational white papers, and published articles to her credit. Short actively works to educate the profession in the areas of marketing, branding, and public relations.

“I am honored to be named to this prestigious list alongside so many amazing women,” said Kristy Short, Ed.D, partner and Chief Marketing Officer at RootWorks. “To date, I’ve worked with hundreds of firms, helping them establish sound marketing and branding programs to advance their practices to next-generation status, and I will continue to work in and for the profession for many more years.”

This year marks the first annual “Most Powerful Women in Accounting” award. The list serves to recognize women who are having the greatest impact on the tax and accounting profession and who are emerging as the next generation of firm leaders—whether through new technologies, practices, workflow, or dynamic work environments.

“Women play an important role in the accounting profession. Sixty percent of practitioners are women, and with the “Most Powerful Women in Accounting” award, we want to highlight those who are contributing to and shaping the next-generation firms,” said CPA Practice Advisor Executive Editor, Darren Root, CPA.CITP.

The Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Accounting list was published in the November 2012 issue of CPA Practice Advisor.
